SCIP is a four year initiative channeling GBP 9.5 million from DFID UK-Aid, the Royal Norwegian Embassy and the Royal Danish Embassy to support all Ethiopian stakeholders including government, civil society, private sector, research organizations and other development partners to respond to the challenges of transitioning to a climate resilient green economy.

A set of 2 model coordinating and managing entities (CMEs) in operation composed of representatives from local stakeholders including CBOs, government offices and beneficiaries with a set of guidelines developed and tested for the CMEs to provide guidance and participatory monitoring and evaluation (PM&E) in the establishment and running of 20 micro green enterprises (MGEs). The guidelines will include indicators for assessing the investment plans of the MGEs and how these relate to and support Ethiopia’s Climate Resilient Green Economy (CRGE) strategies. The 20 MGEs will involve local unemployed youth and heads of single parent families, particularly women. PM&E supported by AV (audio-visual) documentation will be used to derive lessons learned for scaling up to other potential MGEs and geographical locations.
